If you have ever tried to pull on a pair of boots and felt them get stuck halfway up your leg, you know the feeling. And if you have ever bought tall boots that slouched and wrinkled around your calves like they belonged to someone else, you know the other side of it too.
Most boots are made for an average leg that almost nobody actually has. Factories cut thousands of pairs from the same pattern, so if your calves are wider or slimmer than that pattern, or your feet are wider or narrower, you are simply left out.
At Sol Caleyo, every pair is made by hand, one at a time, in my workshop in Spain. Nothing is made in advance. That means I can cut your boots to fit you, not the other way around.
Wide calves
Wide calf boots are hard to find, and the ones that exist often just add a stretchy panel or a few extra centimeters everywhere. That is not the same as a boot made to your leg.
When you order, you send me your calf measurement and I cut the shaft of the boot to match it. The leather sits close without squeezing, the boots slide on easily, and the design stays exactly as it should look, fringe, painted details and all.
Slim calves
The opposite problem is just as common, and talked about much less. If your calves are slim, standard tall boots gap at the top, slide down when you walk and fold around the ankle.
I adjust the shaft to your real calf width so the boot follows the line of your leg. It stays up, looks clean and feels like it was made for you, because it was.
Wide feet
Wide feet usually mean choosing between comfort and style. In a handmade shoe you do not have to. I adjust the width of the upper so your foot has room where it needs it, without the shoe looking bulky.
Narrow feet
Narrow feet slide forward in shoes that are too wide, and that is where blisters, sore toes and that tired feeling at the end of the day come from. A narrower fit keeps your foot steady on the wooden sole, which matters even more in platform heels and clogs.
Sizes beyond the usual
I make every model in EU sizes 33 to 47, and beyond that if you need it. Small sizes and large sizes are made with the same care as any other, and there is no extra charge for a custom size.
How it works
- Choose your model and place your order.
- After ordering, you send me your measurements by email: length of the foot, width, and calf if it is a boot.
- I make your pair by hand, from the leather to the wooden sole. It takes 20 to 30 days.
- Your boots are shipped to you, wherever you are in the world.
If you would also like to change colors, details or heel height (from 5 to 18 cm, depending on the model), write to me before ordering and we will see together what is possible.
Why handmade makes the difference
A factory can only offer the sizes it already produced. A handmade pair starts from nothing, so it can start from you. That is the whole point of made to order: shoes and boots that fit your body, made slowly, by one person, to last for years.
If you have struggled to find boots or shoes that really fit, write to me. Tell me what has always gone wrong, and we will make a pair where it does not.
